Our youth are being dismantled daily by Television, news, social media, music, video games, family members and peers, all broadcasting to them who they are, and what they can or not be or do. As a result, youth, especially our young men of African Ancestry, subconsciously struggle with identity, lack the ability to have an imagination and/or the confidence to visualize themselves in better situations than the present.
With the advancement of technology, there is a rapid decrease in the presence of parenting and children's mental health. Our children are left to protect, defend, and educate themselves 90% of the time leaving them very little room to be children and free to have an imagination. Imagination is what children need to develop a sense of identity, to bring out their creative side, be confident, and smile.
